What is FDRS?
FDRS (Ford Diagnosis and Repair System) is Ford’s official diagnostic and repair software used at authorised workshops. It requires a licence.
Updates
Software updates Ford publishes for engine, transmission and infotainment systems are applied with FDRS. Many MGR projects have received these updates.
Coding and configuration
After a hardware change such as a headlight conversion, software coding may be needed so modules recognise the new hardware.
Why it matters
Current software can make a difference in both driving character and system stability. For pre-purchase and post-service checks, FDRS findings are an important reference.
